Recently I was lucky enough to win a silver award at the AIPP APPA's with my landscape image of the Flinders Ranges. This is only my second award and so I was obviously very excited. Before this year, I had never entered any of my work into any competition, but through my TAFE photography course I had to enter in both the Victorian and also the Australian AIPP awards. I am very drawn to documentary and being able to tell people's stories, this time it is through a photo slideshow, about Josh, an 18yld, creative, gay man, who has many dreams, one of which is becoming a drag model!
Photography allows me to share my visions, experiences, connections and feelings. It also allows me to share other people's connections, which is important to me as I feel I am a part of their experience and also helping others to hold on to important memories. I am motivated to photograph events that help to get a message out, eg environmental issues, equality and human rights issues and rally's that may be happening. I love people, and appreciate everyone's differences and
